May is the month dedicated to nurse because of nurses’ day on May 12 and Hand Hygiene Day on May 5. Nurse’ role is supreme in any hospital – now more than ever before. Nurses are mini-clinicians at the bedside available 24x7 for the patients. In this embodiment, nurse monitor, intervene and report clinical changes, administer medicines, take care of basic hygiene, empathize and sympathize with patients and relatives and become advocates for irresolute patients. For patients and relatives, nurses are the first to go for any needs. Nurses from the major workforce in any hospital. All these make nurses’ day a very important celebration in any hospital. Likewise, nurses are major stakeholders in Hand Hygiene Day. Both the occasions were celebrated in KIMS with much fanfare.
